Wilber, Nebraska the Czech Capital of the United States, and home to the "Miss Czech Slovak USA Pageant" is located 36 miles southwest of Lincoln, Nebraska. This small Czech town swells to over 50,000 eager Czech and Slovak visitor during the annual Wilber Czech Festival.
The main attraction at the Czech Festival is the annual Miss Czech Slovak USA Pageant. This heritage and scholarship pageant has attracted over 200 contestants in the last 20 years. This 21st year, 10 contestants competed for over $8000 worth of cash and prizes.

Michelle Wiedel, Miss Nebraska, of Fremont, Nebraska was crowned Miss Czech Slovak USA 2007, along with winning the Talent Runner Up award and a special scholarship award. Michelle is a student at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is originally from Fremont, NE and performed a tap dance for her talent.

Leah Sticha, Miss Minnesota, was 1st Runner Up and Talent Winner. Elizabeth Klasek, Miss Missouri was 2nd Runner Up and Americanized Kroj Winner, Rachel Svaty, Miss Kansas, was the Authentic Kroj winner, Lindsay McKee, Miss Oklahoma was the Oratory Winner, Katelyn Adams, Miss South Dakota was the Spirit of Czech/Slovak Heritage Award, and Amanda Johanek, Miss Wisconsin was Miss Congeniality.
Other contestants included: Jana Blaha-Rodreguiz from Florida, Marianne Beren from Texas and Casey Dvorak from Iowa.

All contestants compete in four categories, private interview, kroj modeling, onstage interview and talent. Contestants must be females between the ages of 16-26 of Czech or Slovak decent. If you are interested in competing in our 2008 pageant please see our website below.
