M. Becwar 83, Friend, formerly of Milligan, died Sunday
(3/2/08) in Friend. Born 8/22/1924, rural Milligan. 1941
graduate Milligan High School. Former owner: LB Inn, Becwar
Touring, and LB Tapes, all Milligan; former employee NKC
Grain Company and Ace Supply, advertising salesman for Waco
Advertising and Zenith Pictorial. Long-Time area Czech
musician: Leonard Becwar Orchestra playing as "The LB Band";
also sang with the Milligan Czech Brass Band. Member Polka
Hall of Fame, Omaha and charter member of Musician's Hall of
Fame at Milligan. Member and past Grand Chancellor, Knights
of Pythias, ZCBJ Milligan Lodge, Milligan Community Club,
Milligan Town Board, Milligan Fire & Rescue, Milligan United
Methodist Church, Friend United Methodist Church.
Survived by his wife, DeLores, Friend; daughter &
son-in-law, Dawn & Douglas Mundt, Crete; and son, Mark,
Lincoln; seven grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren;
nieces, nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; son &
daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sandy Becwar; brother, LeRoy;
parents-in-law.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (3/5/08) at Milligan
Auditorium, Rev. Paixao Baptista. Interment in the Bohemian
National Cemetery, Milligan. Visitation Tuesday (3/4/08)
from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, with
family greeting relatives & friends from 4-6 p.m. Visitation
also one hour before service at Milligan. Memorials
established to Friend United Methodist Church, Warren
