Emily Samek – Miss Utah, of Orem, UT; 2nd Runner Up
Christy Dowling, Kansas of Hays, KS was crowned 2011-12 Miss Czech-Slovak United States, along with winning Grand Talent and the Oratory Award. Christy attends Kansas State University. She is working on her Bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-Dentistry, minoring in Business. She is the daughter of Bill and Lynn Dowling. With the title Christy will receive $2000 cash, $2500 towards a trip to the Czech or Slovak Republic and a special $250 special scholarship in memory of John Rokusek as well as, crown, sash, trophy, crystal, jewelry and flowers.
Kimberly Root, Nevada, of Las Vegas, NV was 1st Runner Up, Talent Runner-Up, Sokol Award, and Miss Congeniality. Emily Samek, Utah, of Orem, UT won 2nd Runner Up.
Amy Holecek, Texas of West, TX won Authentic Kroj and Makayla Skluzacek, Minnesota of Le Sueur, MN won Americanized Kroj. Cythia Czapla, Pennsylvania of Pittsburgh, PA received the Lois Fiala Spirit of Czech/Slovak Heritage award. Samantha Hubler, Iowa of Cedar Rapids, IA won the Heritage Involvement Award.
Overall the pageant awarded over $10,000 in cash, trip, crystal, trophies, flowers, jewelry, crowns and more! The pageant also had 6 additional outstanding contestants: Caroline Foret, Illinois; Claire Frahm, Nebraska; Ameris Grapa, Wisconsin; Sheila Mazkoori, Oklahoma; Nicole Meadows, Georgia; and Shannon Souhrada, South Dakota.
