This epic historical drama starts after the outbreak of the 2nd World War. In a German field hospital a Czech girl, Helga, saves the life of a young Baltic nobleman who has fled the Soviet menace, joined the German army and has been wounded. The complicated plot, involving events in the autumn and winter of 1939, the spring of 1945, the summer of 1956 and the autumn of 1961, unfolds mainly on the Moravian-Polish borders and culminates in the Belgian Congo.
Join Lincoln Symphony Orchestra on March 14, 2014 at 7:30 for an evening exploring Czech food, culture and music. The concert begins with Dvořák’s Prague Waltzes and three movements from Smetana’s Má Vlast, conjuring images of Czech landscapes, history, and legends. The concert closes with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major, which draws inspiration from Bohemian folk music.You are encouraged to wear your Czech costume to this event.

Featuring Radim Brach, a competition dancer from the Czech Republic - Anna Hand, the 2013-2014 Miss Czech-Slovak U.S. - The Milligan Czech Brass Band and many other talented people to entertain. Sundays event is co-sponsored by the Nebraska Czechs inc.
